Immanuel's History

Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church was founded on May 11, 1870 by Swedish immigrants.
It remained in the Augustana Lutheran Church until becoming a member of the Lutheran Church in
America in 1962. Upon the merger in 1987, Immanuel became a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in America.

Mission Statement

Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America,
is a community of believers in the Triune God, called by Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit,
sent to proclaim the Gospel through Word and Sacrament in Worship, witness, mission, support, service,
and education - as a grateful response to God's saving grace, continuing Christ's presence and ministry in the world.

are youth-led. Activities include service projects, retreats, lock-ins and fundraisers.
