Immanuel's History
Immanuel
Evangelical Lutheran Church was
founded on May 11, 1870 by Swedish immigrants.
It remained in the
Augustana Lutheran Church
until becoming a member of the Lutheran Church in
America in 1962.
Upon the merger in 1987,
Immanuel became a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in
America.
Immanuel
Evangelical Lutheran Church, a
congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America,
is a community of
believers in the Triune God,
called by Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit,
sent to proclaim
the Gospel through Word and
Sacrament in Worship, witness, mission, support, service,
and
education - as a grateful response to
God's saving grace, continuing Christ's presence and ministry in the
world.

Facebook account and search for Immanuel Youth.Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO) consists
of all students in 6th - 12th grades. Monthly
meetings
are youth-led. Activities include service
projects, retreats, lock-ins and fundraisers.
All eligible youth are encouraged to
attend summer church camp at Camp
Tomah Shinga in
Junction City, Kansas. The congregation is
dedicated to paying one-half scholarships for all Immanuel
youth who attend Camp Tomah Shinga.
